Doctor's Control Panel

Research staff will liaise with practices to complete the installation of the software Doctor's Control Panel (DCP), which is an add-on to practice clinical software.

Within the study DCP will be used to:

1.       Extract de-identified practice data on patients aged 40-74 years with a BMI ≥ 28 recorded within last 12mths; BP recorded last 12mths; no diagnosis of Diabetes requiring insulin; no diagnosis of cardiovascular disease; not taking medication for weight loss and no diagnosis of severe mental illness.

2.       Identify eligible patients for the study and print enrolment information for patients with matching criteria, identified from information in the clinical database as the patients arrive in the waiting room. Reception staff using the computer where DCP software is installed will receive a popup notification when a sheet is being printed.

3.       Extract identified information on consenting and eligible patients at baseline, 12 months and 18 months.

For more detailed information on the use of DCP in the study, please visit http://dcpguides.com.au/?page_id=195.

A list of FAQs relating to DCP have also been collated under the FAQ tab on the HeLP-GP page: https://cphce.unsw.edu.au/doctors-control-panel-dcp
