Message from Professor Mark Harris – Executive Director

Posted 5 July 2013

Welcome to our new website and newsletter.  We aim to keep our many partners, supporters and stakeholders informed about the Centre's work. Our partners play a critical role in the work of the centre, especially in the conduct of our research and its translation into policy and practice.

The Centre has four main streams of work: chronic disease prevention and management, primary health care access and development, family and social ecology, and primary care informatics. Within each of these streams there are a number of programs and projects. Of course it is not possible to provide news on everything that is happening in the centre. However each newsletter will provide an update on some of these programs and on research developments.

The Centre has recently completed a process of strategic planning for the next three years. New developments include an increased focus on developing research hubs, in partnership with our Local Health Districts and Medicare locals (in addition to our long standing partnership in South West Sydney) and a new primary care informatics stream, which brings together health information research across the Centre. So we continue to evolve and we look forward to your input.
