Local government plays a central role in creating our landscapes, lifestyles and livelihoods. The health sector increasingly recognises the importance of working with local government to ensure people lead healthier, happier lives. Health impact assessment (HIA) is an approach that enables the health sector to contribute to local government activities and planning. This seminar focused on the use of health impact assessment at the local government level in Québec City, Korea, and in Sydney.
The seminar looked at:
- HIAs that have been done locally and internationally
- how HIA can add value to local government
- the opportunities and future directions for collaboration.
