Medicare Local-- how are they doing?

Posted 17 October 2013

Are Medicare Locals achieving their strategic aims? Are they on track to become effective Primary Health Care Organisations? These are questions that the Centre is asking as part of the national evaluation of Medicare Locals which is being conducted with Ernst and Young and Monash University.

The evaluation has been commissioned by the Department of Health and Ageing. The aim is to see what Medicare Locals are achieving, and whether they are on track to become effective local leaders or coordinators of primary health care development. The evaluation runs until the middle of 2014.
